Christopher Denham is a riot, though his character will remind you of Doomsday Killer played by Colin Hanks in Dexter. Following these roles, Cusack successfully shed his teen-heartthrob image by demonstrating his ability to expand his film repertoire by starring in a wide range of dramas, thrillers and comedies including The Grifters, Eight Men Out, Being John Malkovich, High Fidelity and Grosse Pointe Blank. Other lead actors like Desmin Borges, Dan Byrd, Sasha Lane, Ashleigh LaThrop, Jessica Rothe and Javon 'Wanna' Walton have done well. He is known to the world as Dwight Schrute from The Office but here, he plays a completely diverse character that finds himself amidst a major conspiracy. Rainn Wilson plays a scientist who is brilliant yet gullible. He plays a sophisticated industrialist who is supposedly a philanthropist but is extremely evil and dangerous. The music is peppy and the editing is sharp.Ĭoming to the performances, John Cusack as the head of an organisation that controls the media, brainwashes the people is in top form. While the show has quite a few shocking moments and cool characters, the main premise is predictable and cliched. What happens during these episodes is that the entertainment and thrill factor takes a backseat. However, what makes it just an average watch is the execution where the makers spend a lot of time explaining and yet confuse you enough. The whole bit where the comic book predicting the real-life happenings or rather mis-happening is a not a new concept but it still holds your interest. The major issue that stops Utopia from tapping into its full potential is its complex storyline that often confuses.
